CCMS- possible delay?

CCMS is due to become mandatory for all  civil categories of certificated work on 1 April, however there have been a number of issues reported by users and it looks as though this date may well change. The possible delay will come as no surprise to those users currently airing their grievances on social media under the hashtag #CCMSFail. Whilst the idea of being able to electronically submit applications sounds attractive to most, the reality has been that the system does appear to have struggled and could possibly require a further review... with just a week to go we will watch this space!

The Legal Aid Agency has been urged to delay making a digital legal aid billing system compulsory amid concerns over its performance and reliability. The agency’s client and cost management system (CCMS), which is used to submit civil legal aid applications, will become mandatory for all civil case types from 1 April. The system became mandatory for special Children Act applications from 1 February.
